How To Nominate
Any member who is a member in good standing may nominate an organization. Nomination forms must be submitted no later than two weeks prior to the meeting. If they are submitted after that date, they will be held for the next meeting.
Here is a list of our past winners for your reference.
Members may only nominate one vetted charity per meeting. Members may nominate a different charity at each meeting, but any charity they nominate must have been vetted prior to the meeting date.
The night of the meeting, we will randomly draw three nomination cards. The nominating member of each selected charity will then make a five-minute presentation about the organization to the group.
For members who are not comfortable speaking, we have the answer: one of our dedicated committee members will be delighted to speak on your behalf, but you must be present at the meeting to be eligible. If you want to use this option, your speech must be emailed two weeks prior to the meeting to nominations@100womenvictoria.com.
You may also ask another member who is present at the meeting to deliver the speech on your behalf.

In order to be vetted for nomination, organizations must provide direct services or programs in Victoria. Each philanthropic entity must be a registered charitable organization with a charitable registration number from Canada Revenue Service. National organizations are eligible for nomination as long as they are operating a charitable program, project, appeal or service that directly benefits people living in Greater Victoria.
All nominated charities must agree to provide individual tax receipts and to keep member information confidential. Past winning charities are eligible to re-enter the draw every three years, granted they meet the guidelines.
Each nominated charity is carefully vetted to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria listed above. Our nominations chair will contact you within a few days of nomination if there is an issue with eligibility.
We cannot stress enough the importance of meeting attendance to hear our members' compelling presentations, take part of the vote, and learn first-hand how our collective donations are used by the selected charities.
